Five film projects with partners across eleven countries have been selected for the 10th edition of Script Pool, part of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event and its Discovery Campus education programme. The anniversary selection highlights international collaboration, bringing together creative teams from Europe, Canada and Iran.

Script Pool supports projects with a completed script and strong international distribution potential, helping their directors, screenwriters and producers take the next steps towards production and audiences. Through individual consultations, workshops and pitching preparation, the teams refine both their scripts and the way they present their projects to potential partners.

According to Triin Tramberg, Manager of Script Pool, this year’s selection reflects the importance of building connections across borders.

“This year’s selection reflects how international collaboration is shaping film production, with most of the projects involving partners from more than one country. At Script Pool, we help the teams strengthen their projects and connect with industry professionals who can support their next steps,” says Tramberg. “It is especially rewarding to see Kingpins, our 2024 winner, return to Tallinn for its international premiere in PÖFF’s Baltic Film Competition. Seeing projects progress from development to the festival screen gives us a concrete sense of what this support can achieve.”

The projects are:

From script to pitch

Each team will work with script advisor Marietta von Hausswolff von Baumgarten, who will provide detailed feedback on their screenplay, and screenwriter and script consultant David Pope, who will help them shape a compelling pitch.

Script Pool also continues its collaboration with the International Screen Institute, offering three tailored workshops on audience desgin, film and theatrical distribution. Alongside these sessions, panels, workshops and networking opportunities will help participants better understand the international market and build relationships with potential collaborators.

On 18 November, the five teams will present their scripts and project concepts to an audience of international industry decision-makers, including sales agents, financiers and co-producers.

Jury and award

The Most Promising Project will be selected by a jury comprising Bettina Brokemper, producer at Heimatfilm (Germany); Brad Noel, Assistant Director of Media and Entertainment Financing at Calculus Capital (UK); and Ruta Švedkauskaitė, sales agent at Films Boutique (Lithuania).

The winning project will receive an exclusive opportunity to attend The Write Retreat in Mallorca, presented by law firm TEGOS.

By combining creative development with practical industry insight, Script Pool helps filmmakers strengthen their projects, find collaborators and prepare for the journey from script to screen.
