Script Pool, part of the Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event film market activities and the Discovery Campus educational programme, has opened its annual call for submissions. Established in 2017, Script Pool highlights five international film projects each year together with the creative team behind them — director, screenwriter, and producer.

The programme is designed for film projects with strong international potential, high distribution value, a completed final draft, and partially secured financing.

Over the years, Script Pool participants have achieved remarkable international recognition. Two former projects — The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo by Diego Céspedes and Mama by Or Sinai — premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025. Monica, the USA–Italy co-production by Andrea Pallaoro, premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2022 and won the Young Cinema Award (Best Italian Film), while The Sky Is Pink by Shonali Bose premiered at the 44th Toronto International Film Festival Gala Screening in 2019.

Triin Tramberg, Project Manager of Script Pool, encourages emerging filmmakers to take advantage of the programme’s international platform.

“Many of our previous participants have described Script Pool as an important stepping stone in their project’s journey. The programme not only helps filmmakers strengthen their scripts and presentations, but also allows networking with international professionals in sales, distribution, and production,” says Tramberg. “It is a unique environment where emerging filmmakers can develop their projects with the support of experienced mentors and present their stories to the international industry.”

Focusing on script development and project presentation, Script Pool gives participating teams the opportunity to present their projects to international sales agents, financiers, and co-producers. During the programme, participants work closely with renowned script editors and pitching mentors and receive tailored one-on-one feedback from top international specialists in script development and project presentation.

In partnership with the International Screen Institute the programme includes three tailor-made workshops focused on distribution, sales and audience design offering participants practical industry knowledge and networking opportunities.

The most promising project receives the Script Pool Award, including an invitation to attend The Write Retreat in Mallorca, presented by TEGOS Legal.
