The programme of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event continues on Wednesday with project pitching of Baltic Event Co-Production market, the 10th Industry Innovation Forum Tallinn, insightful open sessions from Discovery Campus programme and TV Beats Screening Day.

During the day, Nordic Hotel Forum Capella will host insightful panel discussions. Join the Industry Innovation Forum Tallinn 2024

Starting from 13.00 (EET), it is time for Industry Innovation Forum Tallinn 2024: Looking Back, Envisioning the Future for European Content and Media. The Industry Innovation Forum Tallinn (IIFT) marks its 10th anniversary at a crucial juncture for European media and content industries. As the sector navigates unprecedented transformation, the forum returns to examine key challenges and opportunities shaping our digital future. This year's edition holds special significance as it aligns with the prestigious Tallinn Digital Summit, creating a unique convergence of political leadership, technological innovation, and creative industry expertise.

On Wednesday afternoon everyone is welcome to join the project pitching of the Baltic Event Co-production market, where 14 new film projects will be presented, including debut works, new features, and engaging stories by experienced directors. This year the market has expanded its diverse selection to include feature films aimed at youth and children and for the first time in the Baltic Event Co-Production Market history, all the projects will be presented to the audiences in a conversation with Sibylle Kurz and Marta Balaga. As part of the Europea Genre Forum, the programme includes a presentation Generative AI in Genre Film, where the Finnish Alchemist start-up introduces the latest AI-tools used in various film production stages and deploys the tools live, analyzing the advantages and risks compared to traditional film-making.

Discovery Campus open sessions

Discovery Campus, the continuing educational programme organised in collaboration with a variety of prestigious international partners is in full swing starting from Wednesday with many open sessions for all industry guests. Discovery Campus unites established talent programmes Script Pool project Competition, Black Nights Stars, Music Meets Film, Black Room and Frame Within a Frame, presenting 40 selected talents to the industry.

The Discovery Campus open sessions on Wednesday include three from the International Screen Institute as part of Script Pool. Audience design by Benjamin Cölle who will talk about the theoretical foundations of this practice and present recent film projects as best-practice examples. What Does a Sales Company Do And Why Might You Want One by Julia Short will break down what a sales company does from business models and share further top tips on how to determine which sales company is right for your project. The panel How does film distribution actually work will deliver a clear breakdown of the distribution sector and best practices when it comes to making a deal and working with distributors.

The session The Business of Film by Patrick Fisher will explore how money flows in and out of content production. Music Meets Film invites everyone to join the session Navigating the Industry with Graham Bell, Thea Zaitsev and Sandra Perens and a seminar Dialogue on Contracts: Before and After Signing with TGS Baltic Priit Lätt and film composer Liina Sumera. During the Filmmakers.eu presentation David Zitzlsperger will introduce the Filmmakers platform and explain how to navigate the platform and how to make use of this opportunity in its best possible way for all parties involved. Wednesday’s programme also includes a Frame Within a Frame Master Screening: The Kite Runner followed by an in-depth case study on the cinematography of the film, presented by cinematographer Roberto Schaefer and moderated by Elen Lotman ESC. Together, they will discuss the cinematographic approach, creative inspirations, and technical processes that Roberto and his team employed to bring the film's stunning visuals to life.

To end the day with an inspiring note, the Discovery Campus programme invites everyone to a practical workshop Personality-Led Growth in the Film Industry, that teaches how to showcase creativity without feeling like a sell-out.
